Superaurora

Some might call me patriotic, but the landscape of Italian summer festivals is rich and never ceases to amaze. At least once a day, a new festival with an incredible lineup pops up on my feed, leaving me torn on where to go and who to see. Oh, to have the gift of ubiquity...

Rome is the beating heart of Italy, and sometimes it gets difficult for artists to establish their artistic identity due to the limited opportunities. Despite this, it’s a city in constant evolution, full of vibrancy and life, with a human capital that represents the beauty of new generations of artists. And it’s Rome herself that, this July, will be painted with music and social gathering thanks to the SUPERAURORA Festival, taking place on July 27 and 28, 2024, at Castello Chigi di Castel Fusano in Rome.

The Castello Chigi, one of the architectural gems of the capital, provides a perfect backdrop for a festival that aims to combine music, nature, and art into a unique experience. Organized by Alcazar, one of Rome's and Italy's most renowned clubs for live music and DJ sets, the event impeccably merges all these elements. Inspired by the great European festivals, SUPERAURORA offers participants not only two days of concerts but also glamping, workshops, art installations, and much more. This creates a moment of exchange and enrichment, aiming to go beyond merely buying a ticket, creating memories and enhancing cultural knowledge.

Within the splendid setting of the castle, there will be videomapping installations that will transform the surrounding environment into a comprehensive work of art. Additionally, there will be workshops, yoga classes, and food stands deeply interlaced with Roman tradition to enhance the territory and pay homage to the capital. SUPERAURORA also offers the public the chance to camp just a few meters from the sea, experiencing a full immersion of two days in nature and music.

The SUPERAURORA’s lineup is a true treat for the audience: carefully curated, it winks at the European audience's tastes (and beyond) by combining internationally renowned artists with emerging talents. The stages will host artists like Craig David, a prominent figure in the British R&B and garage scene with over 7 million copies sold of his debut album; JP Cooper, hitmaker known for songs like "Perfect Strangers" and "She's on My Mind"; Louie Vega, a world-renowned DJ and Grammy winner; Masego, a Grammy-nominated singer and producer who has graced the stages of the world's best festivals like Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and many more. But that’s not all: the stage will also feature BigMama, Mecna, Fast Animals and Slow Kids, and Giuse The Lizia - representing the ever diverse and resilient Italian scene. The lineup spans from pop to rock, R&B to rap, disco to house, including indie and alternative genres. This variety reflects a declaration of intent: to create an inclusive and diverse event capable of attracting a heterogeneous audience and satisfying all musical tastes.

SUPERAURORA is not just a rich musical event but represents a part of Italy increasingly inclined to create conscious consumers, music lovers who go beyond mere listening. It’s an event where music reigns supreme, designed to gather thousands of people in a village offering opportunities to socialize, dance, and simply immerse themselves in the music. Castello Chigi, with its vast green spaces and historical ambiance, provides the ideal setting for a festival that aims to offer participants a 360-degree experience.
