Paris Fashion Week F/W 2024

Paris Fashion Week is finally over, and so are we. It was a great week; we saw the fall 2024 trends of the luxury fashion world and were fascinated, smiled, and realized again that the power of fashion is much more than designs and beautiful models. Now let's talk about the shows and moments that marked Paris Fashion Week.

Christian Dior, Fall Winter 2024, a collection reflecting the independent woman of the '60s. Maria Grazia Chiuri presented the 1967 prêt-à-porter Miss Dior line with this collection. We saw a large "Miss Dior" inscription in nude colors. At the same time, in the area where the show took place, we saw the works of Indian artist Shakuntala Kulkarni.

YSL and transparency were on fire! Silk dresses and designs revealed the beauty of the female body. Also, there is the exhibition 'Yves Saint Laurent Transparences' at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent in Paris until August 25. Anthony Vaccarello allowed models and female bodies to exhibit themselves with pride.

A multi-gender casting was such a strong move to make. Balmain closed the day with its unique show in Paris. Olivier Rousteing dedicated the collection to his childhood home of Bordeaux and his lovely mother, Lydia Rousteing.

For Daniel Roseberry, it is never enough! Sexy, feminine, feminine strong Schiaparelli, which was a great collection and managed to collect appreciation from everyone, was again one of my favorite shows. Big-size earrings and the iconic Potato Head bags. Luxury is never quiet for Schiaparelli...

Miu Miu and the skinny jeans... One of the best shows in Paris. "I think that I kind of show fashion possibilities that I think are relevant now and after," Prada said after the show. "You can choose memories. But that was not the point. The point for me was really that you can choose different moments of your life. I have mixed them up. I say to myself every single morning, 'I have to decide if I am a 15-year-old girl or a lady near death.'"

Chanel opened its fashion show with a short film starring Brad Pitt and Penélope Cruz, reinforcing its bonds with cinema. The short film, shown on giant screens in the center of the catwalk, was a short reinterpretation of Claude Lelouch's "A Man and a Woman," directed by Inez and Vinoodh.

On Sunday night, Mugler organized a large-scale theatre show at Lycée Carnot. As the curtains opened, models emerged from the shadows and interacted with drones and cameras on the catwalk. Before creative director Casey Cadwallader took the closing walk, the final curtain opened to reveal the backstage area, where the entire workshop team waved to the audience.

The Air Swipe bag, referring to Coperni's Space Age, was produced using Aerogel, a silicon-based solid used by NASA to capture stardust, which is 1000 times less dense than glass and 99 percent air by volume. The fashion house, which always exhibits the possibilities of modern technology in its fashion shows, was much talked about last year when it turned the spray paint sprayed on Bella Hadid on the catwalk into a dress.

After a nine-day runway marathon with a total of 108 fashion shows and presentations, the 2024-24 Fall/Winter Paris Fashion Week has finally come to an end. From creative director Nicolas Ghesquière's collection celebrating his 10th anniversary at Louis Vuitton to Alexander McQueen's first presentation under the direction of Sean McGirr and Chemena Kamali's recreation of the '70s Chloé girl, we have seen many important fashion moments this season.
