Tante Care Cose

An uncertain future marked by generational depression and geopolitical devastation. In an era like the one we are living through, fashion often reflects the collective state of mind, rendering fashion itself devoid of meaning. The market is indeed in decline: clothing has partly become a muted reflection of a society that wears the same things to go to the same office every morning, a statement of surrender to a world that refuses to change alongside us. Emerging brands must fight tooth and nail, while established brands are becoming increasingly elitist, and finding a path free from moral corruption (whose allure is undeniable, which is why many brands depersonalize themselves in exchange for mainstream recognition) seems to have become one of Hercules' labors.

But the tears on our faces at the sight of the closing credits of Marco Rambaldi's shows still give us hope in a world that seems lost within the confines of an unrestrained capitalism and a crisis of collective identity. The show, titled "Tante Care Cose" (many dear things), concluded with a song by Battiato - an Italian interlude that affirms the desire to tell a different life, one filled with welcome, love, and "tante care cose", without ever losing sight of them, without ever sacrificing them for something undoubtedly greater.

“We find in the prints tables experienced like our consciences, the well-being of simple things, good food, Sundays, and moments of conviviality”, reads the official presentation of the show. “From printed tulle slips to satin skirts with visible linings, we discover a bit of our intimacy and our thoughts”.

Marco embodies a fusion of values rooted in the beauty of simplicity - this is his fashion. Rural yet intellectually sophisticated. This intrinsic Italian-ness powerfully highlights the themes of a women’s collection suspended between memory and present. But it is not a cold and austere Italian-ness; it is mature, complete, interwoven with refined elements and silhouettes that make bold statements. The brand’s seminude body is adorned with the see-through quality of lace, accented by the sparkle of Swarovski crystals. Once again, it reminds us of that ancient Italian tradition of doilies and lace that becomes a symbol of a strong woman, just like the women he chose to showcase. One of the most significant aspects of the show was, in fact, the choice of models. It’s no new story that Rambaldi opts to represent a different, unembellished Italian beauty, without frills. The models reflect a diverse range of experiences and identities - not just a list of beautiful faces, but a celebration of inclusion.

With "Tante Care Cose", Marco Rambaldi not only celebrates the beauty of simplicity but also offers a perspective of change. In this cold world, we must not forget the "tante care cose" that make our existence special, and carry them with us as we face each day. Ideally, wearing a fantastic knitwear piece.
