Nicole + Felicia

Glitz and spectacle defined the entirety of the “Eras Tour,” and Taylor’s costumes were no exception; over the course of a single evening, the singer donned fourteen breathtaking dresses and bodysuits designed by some of the top luxury fashion designers in the world. Some that stood out were her dazzling ballgowns, one of which was designed by the Taiwanese fashion company Nicole + Felicia: her elegant tiered tulle lilac gown, emblematic of her “Speak Now” era.

This isn’t the first time Taylor has collaborated with the brand. The same team previously constructed two bespoke gowns for the singer, worn in her “I Bet You Think About Me” music video back in 2021. Taylor’s management was evidently impressed with their services, as they approached Nicole + Felicia before “The Eras Tour” had even been announced, asking them if they’d be interested in designing part of her wardrobe.

In the end, the company contributed three eye-catching gowns to Taylor’s stacked supply. Two of these beautiful dresses aren’t featured in “The Eras Tour” movie: a glittering blue cross-body halter top dress adorned with decorative floral embellishments, and a crystal-encrusted layered beige number with jewels cascading down the skirt like shimmering snowfall. These dresses were worn throughout the tour as the singer cycled through different varieties of dresses from city to city.

Who are Nicole + Felicia?

Given their designs for “The Eras Tour,” it won’t come as a shock to learn that Nicole + Felicia is a company that specializes in designer wedding gowns. The brand was founded in 2015 by sisters Nicole and Felicia Chang, two Taiwanese entrepreneurs. The siblings started their business in their hometown of Taipei, Taiwan, and in just under ten years, they have quickly risen to achieve global recognition and fame.

Since the beginning, the team has striven to push boundaries and defy expectations with their spectacular designs for modern deluxe bridal gowns. Speaking on the brand’s unique style, Nicole Chang highlights her company’s mission to bridge the gap between high-end fashion and day-to-day wear in their bridal looks. “We bring a lot of the glamorous elements that you would see on red carpets into daily life,” she explains in an interview with People Magazine. Their signature style hinges on adhering to captivating trends in popular international fashion while refraining from falling into the pitfall of over-the-top designs that dominate the fashion industry, resulting in their sleek yet awe-inspiring dresses.

A hands-on approach to crafting their dresses also helps Nicole + Felicia stand out. The siblings pride themselves on their company’s unique method of making each of their intricately-beaded-and-jeweled dresses by hand and on-site at their main warehouse in Taiwan. This detail makes Taylor’s dresses appear even more impressive upon close examination when you think of the tedious, painstaking effort it must have taken to create her fancy and free look, as her gowns are covered in seemingly hundreds of individual, tiny crystals and gems.

From Small Business to Smashing Success

Ever since Taylor’s team took notice of Nicole + Felicia in 2015, the business quickly ascended from national to international prominence. Nicole + Felicia’s dresses have long been coveted by some of the wealthiest influencers and actresses in Asia and have now been worn by celebrities around the world, particularly in the United States. Halle Bailey, Rita Ora, and Kelly Rowland have all appeared dressed in Nicole + Felicia designs, and Chrissy Teigen brought the red carpet to a standstill with her massive bright pink Nicole + Felicia gown at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

The sisters’ time in the spotlight hasn’t slowed their ambition in the slightest; they expect this fall to be their biggest season yet. The brand recently released photos of their incoming Fall and Winter 2024 Bridal Collection, comprised of new designs with a classic yet stunning flair. Thanks to their work being showcased at such a widespread level via Taylor Swift’s record-breaking smash-hit tour, come the end of the year, the team will no doubt see a boom in an already thriving business.
