Grammys 2024

The Grammy Awards are the night to celebrate and honor musicians' achievements. It is also a night to project and cement an artist's image, which is what we saw this past Sunday. While there were so many looks we adored, like Ice Spice’s denim-on-denim on fur or Miley Cyrus' chain dress, we’ve narrowed it down to our four favorite looks of the night.

Most Relatable

While the night is often star-studded and grand, Grammy winner Laufey wore a simplistic skirt-top combo from Chanel's Pre-collection 2024. The look was down to earth yet elegant, reminiscent of the quiet luxury trend. It was a classic look that is accessible in style, if not in price tag. Most importantly, the look completely embodied Laufey's refined air and playful spirit, something ever-present in her music.

Most Impactful

Indie rock group boygenius, composed of Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus, posed a united front on the carpet as they wore custom, matching white tuxedos designed by Thom Browne, the group's fashion confidante. On their lapels, the group wore pink carnations, an apparent nod to their song "We're in Love" ("In the next one, will you find me? / I'll be the boy with the pink carnation pinned to my lapel"). The group also wore matching red pins in support of Artists4Ceasefire, an artist coalition advocating for an end to the ongoing war in Gaza. Despite announcing their hiatus during their acceptance speech, the group showed their deep connection and like-minded dedications through their fashion.

“I’m Obsessed”

It's a tree dress, need I say more? Yes, I do. Dawn Richard appeared at the Grammys wearing a dress from Khosrov's Spring/Summer 2024 collection. It's an easy dress to get lost in, but Dawn Richard doesn't let it wear her. The red of the dress pops against her skin, bringing her to life. The simple lines of the dress draw you up, while the branches perfectly frame her face, bringing all attention to her. She's on trend for this coming season as well, with red and conceptual looks being on top of haute couture right now. We love to see artistic fashion on the red carpet, but sorry to whoever had to sit behind her. Not that I’d complain, though.

Best of the Night

Even with some bubbling controversy, it's hard to deny that Taylor Swift stole the night. From her announcement of an upcoming album to her thirteenth Grammy win, she was a major talking point during and after the ceremony. Her dress is no different. Reported to be in custom Schiaparelli, Taylor Swift looked ready for a ball in her white gown and black velvet opera gloves. She was bejeweled with statement necklaces, and her watch choker referenced her winning album of the year, Midnights. She finished off the look with a signature red lip. Together, she constructed the perfect display for her monumental night.
