The 82nd Annual Golden Globes made history in television and media this past week, with stars of all roles and responsibilities bedazzling the red carpet. But there was an extra special guest in Beverly Hills…Glambot, the iconic high-speed, slow-motion camera. Who gave us the best Glambot clip of 2025 and of all time, and who is the mastermind behind those extra chic spotlight moments?
The first ever Golden Globes awards took place in 1944, to celebrate the best of the best in film and television in 1943. Still today, the Golden Globes are held annually (usually in Hollywood, of course), acknowledging talent across 27 categories. Originally an informal event, this awards ceremony is now one of the most prestigious events of the year, with a guest list of A-listers getting more and more impressive each year. And with a star-studded red carpet comes a plethora of cameras, of course. There are probably more cameras than celebrities, tbh. But one lens stands out as producing the most entertaining and flawless images of our favourite celebs…without the toxic media content. Glambot.
Glambot (the only bot we want to see online) is a high-speed, slow-motion camera that can capture 1000 frames per second. It zooms into celebs’ faces at a (scarily) high speed and records a slow-motion clip of their movement in immense quality. A dramatic dress toss, hair flip or spin seem to be most effective…and most viral. Glambot has a special spot on most red carpets alongside inventor Cole Walliser. Originally from Canada, Cole is a director/filmmaker based in Los Angeles, and the creator of Glambot. He’s got a pretty impressive social media following, has directed music videos for icons like Miley Cyrus, and has worked intensely with the likes of Covergirl, Pantene, etcetera. He knows a thing or two about zooming in on celebs’ good sides. You’ve probably seen the viral (like, millions of views on Cole’s official TikTok viral…like, it’s unsure if we will ever get over it viral) Ariana Grande Glambot from the 2020 Oscars all over the media, even to this day. It needs no explanation. Well, in 2025, Cole is back for more. The Golden Globes produced some of the best Glambots in a while, and remind us of the best of all time.
Focus. Literally. One of the best and most anticipated Glambot guests of the 2025 Golden Globes: Ariana Grande. As mentioned, everyone has seen Ari’s 2020 Oscars Glambot, and it's an obvious top pick, but her 2025 attempt may be even more iconic. Everyone thought it would be too hard to top, but I fear she may have done it. At this year's Golden Globes, Ari finds the camera with an elegant double hair flip, with a signature ponytail as iconic as ever. This was Ariana’s first Golden Globes, where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her enchanting portrayal of Glinda in the Wicked movie. Whilst she didn’t win the category, she won the hearts of the lens of every single camera at the event, including Glambot. Her white gloves contrast her hair, whilst complementing her Swarovski jewellery. The star of the show though, is the dress (duh). Serving periodic chic, this garment was originally designed by Hubert de Givenchy and goes back to 1966. With the vintage aesthetic, it’s rumoured that Ari is embodying Audrey Hepburn’s classic Old Hollywood style here (natural makeup, beige tones, gloves), especially as Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn had a close relationship in the past. Wickedreceived an award in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Category - Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, alongside everyone who worked on the movie itself, deserve it wholeheartedly for their immense dedication to Wicked.
At the 2025 Golden Globes, Zoe Saldana won Best Supporting Female Actor - Motion Picture for her astounding work in Emilia Perez and gave the most heartwarming speech, which she followed up in an Instagram post. “Where to even begin?! After the tears, the long embraces, the cheers, the messages, the handshakes, the photos, and the awards, my heart is filled with absolute joy and immense gratitude. Forever grateful to my family, my rocks, who have been my source of unconditional love.” - @zoesaldana on IG. Zoe was elegantly pictured in a black Saint Laurent gown and shoes, with sequins all over, an hourglass silhouette, and a beautiful cape - a flawless touch to her Glambot attempt. Her jewellery, including Cartier, adds an extra sparkle. Serving clean girl, she adds sophistication to the runway with a seamless slick back hairdo and opts for subtle makeup. This was Zoe’s first Golden Globe (hopefully of many) and her reaction proves that no one could be more deserving.
Honourable mention. Dripping in Dior, Anya Taylor-Joy boasted her lustful blonde hair in a 2024 Oscars Glambot masterclass. Truly one of the best of all time, Anya finds the camera with ease and has a lethal face card. Her dress is a reminder of the timeless Junondress of 1949 by Christian Dior, which also featured layered segments of grey petals. Taylor-Joy said this dress was inspired by ‘Birth of Venus’ by Botticelli, additionally. As ever, Anya Taylor-Joy is styled elegantly in minimal yet stunning silver jewellery, tying together her historic Oscars outfit alongside her makeup and hair. As far as Glambots and red carpet outfits go, this is one of the sublime picks. Iconic.
The Glambot takeover is real. It makes every awards event that much extra special, you can really see a celebs’ personality through the screen more than with a standard paparazzi image…and it gives us a chance to see all angles of their whimsical fashion choices too. Thank you, Cole Walliser, we say in unison. Cole posts content surrounding Glambot on his YouTube and official TikTok - Glambot is for everyday. Not just the runway.
